Dorotha Mengert
Dorotha was the Secretary/Treasurer at the Old Mill Stream Fairgrounds and gave 50 years of dedication to this facility. A fountain has been placed in the Old Mill Stream Memorial Park in memory of her. Dorotha's expertise in record keeping has benefited many of us in looking back over her records, giving us a history of events over the years.
Richard L. Stine
Richard was a beekeeper and the Hancock County Fair was an important part of his life. A memorial was established to benefit the Junior Fair upon his death and was recently brought back to our attention when his mother,
Leuceille Aurel Wineland Stine Anderson, passed away. This fair was a major part of her life also, having attended and participating since she was a child. Her daughter recollects being here every day, from set up to tear down.
Memorials will continue to benefit the Junior Fair Department.
Joe Bell
Joe started going to fairs when he was in 4-H, showing sheep and cattle. He had ponies as a kid. From 1977-1983 he had a six pony hitch that showed at numerous fairs and parades and he showed at the Hancock County Fair until he became a fair board member. He judged draft horse and pony shows at numerous fairs and enjoyed annoucing horse shows. Joe was a valuable member of the Hancock County Agricultural Society Board of Directors.
Memorials given in Joe's name go to our Long Term Debt.
